Great news for discerning spa-goers who’ve made the pilgrimage to the iconic Hotel Splendido in Portofino to experience “Dior Haute Wellness” over the last two summers: after testing the concept with great success, the French fashion and beauty powerhouse is making it official with its first permanent spa in Italy.
While still seasonal (open from early June through the end of October), Dior Spa Splendido serves as an Instagram-perfect spot to experience the brand’s unique take on beauty services for the face and body.
Perched on a cliffside and boasting a panoramic view of the Ligurian Sea below, the newly renovated, 70-room property—a former 16th century monastery—previously hosted an al fresco version of the Dior spa in freestanding skincare gazebos.
In a nod to Christian Dior’s birthplace (the seaside town of Granville in Normandy, France), as well as the gardens at his château, La Colle Noire, the new incarnation of Dior Spa Splendido maintains a distinctly natural, outdoorsy vibe. Accessible via the hotel lobby or the gardens, dotted with fragrant foliage, it’s an invitation to partake in what the brand calls “luxury slow wellness.”
The house’s approach to spa—just as it is with fashion and accessories—is to combine expert craftsmanship with cutting-edge innovation.
Comprising two double-bed Le Jardin des Rêves Dior gazebos offering outdoor services, the indoor, double-bed Millefiori Suite, and a relaxation rooftop, there’s plenty of space to unwind at Dior Spa Splendido. Itching to do a little shopping? That’s possible too, in the spa’s sleekly elegant reception area, fully stocked with Dior skincare, makeup and perfume, alongside an edited selection of ready to wear and accessories.
But back to those treatments . . .
The Spa Offerings (Al Fresco & Otherwise)
For the opening of Dior Spa Splendido, the house has unveiled a new signature ritual for face and body: the 90-minute Splendidior, powered by semi-precious stones. Following a soothing rock-crystal massage, the treatment segues to a luxury facial. The end goal? Deep relaxation, Portofino-style…
For the Face
Three core facials anchor this menu: Golden Aura: 90-minute radiance-booster incorporating heated muscle massage, hot gua sha draining techniques, oxygenating mask and negative ion therapy; Kobi-Dior: 60-minute contour sculptor, weaving in manual drainage, dry brushing, firming mask and cry acupressure; and Dior Powered By Hydrafacial: 60-minute dynamic duo of Dior’s famous floral science and Hydrafacial’s signature dead skin cell-sweep. Pairs dermabrasion and AHA peeling with a regenerative mask
For the Body
Three distinct offerings meet diverse desires and needs: New Look: 60-minute silhouette-refiner pairing manual lymphatic techniques with gut detoxification; Constellation: 60-minute / 90-minute tension-releaser, steeped in “slow, enveloping” full-body massage; and D-Tissue: 60-minute / 90-minute massage-based muscle recovery and tissue oxygenation, ideal for post-sports or workout.
Enhancements
Interested in an add-on or two? Dior Spa Splendido has you covered with a full menu of enhancements for the face and body, including LED light, oxygen therapy, reflexology, dry brushing, and back release.
Diving Deeper With Day Packages
Four multi-hour, “Wellness Getaway” experiences await spa guests: Dolce Vita Therapy: Includes a private yoga session in the gardens, combined with Golden Aura facial, Constellation body treatment and two enhancements (LED and negative ion therapy); Health is Wealth: Includes detox brunch at Splendido Grill paired with slimming and draining massages for face and body; Dior Fitness Therapy: Includes a private tennis lesson or exercise class, followed by Kobi-Dior facial, D-Tissue body treatment and foot reflexology; and A Getaway for Two: Includes lunch at Splendido Grill followed by Splendidior signature treatment.
It’s All About Dior “Haute-Wellness”
Woven throughout the mix of classic and modern, manual and high-tech treatments for the face and body is Dior Spa’s singular notion of “haute-wellness.”
Underscored by a balance of mind and body, the house’s approach to spa—just as it is with fashion and accessories—is to combine expert craftsmanship with cutting-edge innovation. The overriding goal? To infuse everything it produces with the spirit of the Maison and the man behind it.
“I wanted to make women not only more beautiful,” said Christian Dior, “but also happier.”
