The 22nd edition of Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas, held in July at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, closed with record energy and a clear signal of where the beauty industry is headed.
With 26,000 visits from 103 countries and over 1,000 exhibiting companies from 44 countries, the show reaffirmed its role as the leading B2B beauty exhibition in the Americas. Korean beauty made a strong showing with a 51 percent increase in participating brands and suppliers, underscoring the region’s influence on global innovation.
The Buyer Program drew more than 200 leading retailers, including L’Oréal, Nordstrom, Revlon, and Target, who leveraged Cosmoprof’s AI-powered matchmaking tool to connect with emerging and established players. Educational tracks such as Entrepreneur Academy, CosmoTalks, and Cosmopack Education added depth, tackling issues from engaging Generation Alpha to navigating the next era of packaging.
CosmoTrends: Five Emerging Directions
The annual CosmoTrends report, curated by BeautyStreams, spotlighted 22 exhibiting companies aligned with five defining currents shaping beauty’s future:
Sensitive & Reactive Skin solutions addressing environmental stressors.
Regenerative Formulations, including DNA-based actives like PDRN.
Advanced Mask Technologies with elevated delivery and sensorial impact.
Multifunctional Device-Solution Hybrids bridging technology and topical care.
Next-Level Lip Care, pushing beyond traditional formats.
These were brought to life through an on-site installation and an accompanying CosmoTalks session, providing a clear snapshot of innovation to watch.
The future of beauty is not just clean or sustainable—it is regenerative, restorative, and deeply accountable to the planet.
Beyond Blue Beauty: Regenerative Practices for a Restorative Future
Each year, I look forward to connecting with industry peers and leading a clean beauty–focused panel at CPNA Las Vegas. For the past decade, I also co-curated the Discover Green Beauty section, which—together with Discover Black-Owned Beauty—has now evolved into the newly reimagined Discover Beauty concept. This year’s vibrant Discover Beauty space brought together AAPI-owned, Latinx-owned, Indigenous-owned, and women-owned brands, alongside those championing conscious beauty.
In that spirit, I developed Beyond Blue Beauty: Regenerative Practices for a Restorative Future—a session designed to move the conversation beyond sustainability toward regeneration. My goal was to spotlight voices that demonstrate how beauty, at its best, can nurture human wellbeing while also contributing to the healing of the planet.

Jeannie Jarnot
The session underscored that sustainability is now the baseline, while regeneration is the future. My expert panelists shared how reef-safe formulations, carbon removal initiatives, circular packaging, and water stewardship are shaping innovation—and how ocean health and biodiversity must anchor beauty’s next chapter.
Jeannie Jarnot, Founder of Beauty Heroes and the visionary behind the Blue Beauty concept, reflected on her journey since coining the term in 2017. What began as a call to consider the oceanic impact of beauty has grown into a broader movement urging brands to think regeneratively. Jarnot’s perspective bridged the early ideals of Blue Beauty with today’s urgent push for climate-conscious, ocean-safe innovation.
Matthew Roomet, Founder of Project Reef, spoke of his mission to create reef-safe formulations while embedding carbon removal into his brand’s DNA. Drawing on his background in hospitality, he emphasized the need to link indie innovation with mainstream consumer behavior to drive meaningful impact.
Maria Wodzinska, activist and Founder of Stoic Beauty, brought the lens of water justice and indigenous rights. She highlighted the importance of biodegradability, bioaccumulation, and the noise of certification fatigue, challenging brands to weave water ethics into every stage of their business models.
The themes of the session echoed CosmoTrends’ focus on regenerative and water-safe innovation, reinforcing the urgency of aligning business models with ecological restoration. For me, the panel reaffirmed the importance of continuing to convene these conversations—bringing together visionaries who are willing to imagine a beauty industry that gives back more than it takes.
