Named one of the “Iron Ladies of the Russian Luxury World” by Vogue, this chic designer is co-founder of Russia’s interior design school, Details, and the creator of Oazia Spa Villas, a boutique hotel and lifestyle brand with property developments on the Indonesian islands of Flores and Sumba. Bali-based Veronika recently joined forces with Talika, a luxury French skin-care brand, to co-create the Alexa by Talika Oazia — a floating spa for two aboard a 92-foot traditional Phinisi.

Insider’s: How would you describe yourself?

Veronika Blomgren: I’m a woman dedicated to love and all of its most generous expressions on this planet — flowers, crystal clear water, and inspirational houses and boats.

Insider’s: What is your relationship to spa?

VB: For me, a perfect day has to end with a sunset walk on the beach and a spa massage with candles. Spa is the health of my soul and the inner space of my body.

Insider’s: Tell me a little bit about the Alexa.

VB: Alexa is a 92-foot Phinisi, a traditional two-masted Indonesian sailing ship with beautiful design details, including cabins outfitted with wide-plank teak and Indonesian antiques. She’s built for two to enjoy and has a spa staff of seven that live onboard, although the Alexa can accommodate up to 20 people for day parties. The staff is made up of a Michelin-star chef, two cruise directors, a spa therapist who is also a yoga instructor, a captain, engineer, and dive master. She sails among the islands of the Indonesian archipelago.

Insider’s: What kind of spa experience may one have aboard?

VB: A menu of holistic massages and specific rituals created by Talika.

Insider’s: Do you have a favorite spa?

VB: The very best spa is a remote beach under the hands of our expert therapist — and every day a new beach where Alexa can sail you day after day. Alexa makes all your spa dreams and fantasies reality.
