What do you do with an unused park fountain? Turn it into an Urban Spa, of course! I was so touched by this story in Dezeen Magazine that perfectly exemplifies three of the Seven Timeless Truths of Spa—Community. Water. Fitness.—that I had to share it with you.
Students from The Institute of Architecture and Design Chihuahua created the shaded urban spa in central Urueta Park for local residents using fabric, scaffolding, and wood. Each of the nine towers are topped with a wooden canopy.
Kudos to Madrid architects PKMN, Mexico design studio Memela, architects Juan Castillo and Miguel Heredia, and designer Miguel Garcia.
Let this project be an inspiration to the spa industry here and abroad.
