To paraphrase Gloria Steinem’s manifesto, “This is what 40 looks like”—this is what 125+, or 132, to be exact—looks like!
Deborah Szekely, founder of the modern American spa industry, has done it again—landing a one-two punch at the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards ceremony in New York City last night.
The Golden Door, founded by Deborah in 1958, captured the number-one spot: World’s Best Destination Spa, while Deborah’s Rancho La Puerta, which she co-founded with her late husband in 1940, garnered the number-two spot.
As many insiders already know, the Ranch was founded by Deborah when she was only 18 years old and just last month, it celebrated 75 years.
Congratulations, Deborah!
