The Debut of Discover Green

Mary Bemis

I love it when like minds meet—and even more when they have the opportunity to work together. So it gives me great pleasure to announce the debut of Discover Green, a special pavilion at Cosmoprof North America co-curated by Insider’s Guide to Spas. The exhibit, dedicated to environmentally conscious products, took place July 24th to 26th at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Over the past few decades, I’ve worked with many of you to propel the spa and sustainable beauty worlds forward, and watching the results has been beyond rewarding. As the natural and organic beauty industry continues to grow, there’s no better time than now to debut Discover Green, an exciting new platform that will, without a doubt, help move the industry forward.

As the natural and organic beauty industry continues to grow, there’s no better time than now to debut Discover Green . . .

The focus is truly on innovative and indie companies that showcase new ideas—a perfect example of this is 808 Dude, a personal-care company from Australia, created specifically for teenage boys. And there’s SkinYoga, a natural skincare brand from India, founded by three sisters. I love the fact that Discover Green had a total of  20 cool companies—plus a beautiful and well-thought out show floor with some really distinct and tasteful design touches. And speaking of like minds, it has been an absolute pleasure working with Daniela Ciocan, marketing director, Cosmoprof North America, and her team.

Continuing the Green Conversation

I hosted a special session, “Spa Market Evolution: Green Mile Markers,” on Sunday July 24th (stay tuned for more on that in a future post). My smart and savvy panel consisted of Barbara Close, CEO of Naturopathica, Rose Fernandez, vice president and general manager of Jurlique, North America, and Michelle Kelthy, award-winning spa director at the Ritz-Carlton, Naples. We discussed the crossover between spa and wellness, and the story of how we got to now.
